There are several reasons why the microphone is not working.

For us to isolate the issue, we would like to know the following:

• Was the issue only happening on Facebook/Messenger?
• Did you receive any error messages when accessing it?

I am having the same issue.  It worked a few moments ago, but when I tried to make a return call, I am receiving this message.

'm  having the same issue and haven't seen a fix in any of your responses.  Click the microphone in FB messenger and the system message talks about making sure you give this app access to the mic.  When you pull up settings it already has access to the mic.

For us to narrow it down and provide you the proper resolution, may we know if you have installed any software applications or changed any hardware devices to your device prior to the concern?

When did you start encountering the issue?
Any changes made on your computer prior to the issue?
Have you tried any possible troubleshooting steps? If yes, what are those steps and did you get any error messages?

Issue is ONLY w/Facebook/Messenger.

Error messages were I believe included as screensnapshots in with my initial query.

Had the same problem , just fixed it try google chrome .it worked for me on my PC

works ok for skype but I get a warning when using FB IM -> 'in your device settings allow Messenger to use microphone'.

Can't find where in the "device setting"
